About Armenia

Armenia is a small, stunning country situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, between the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Seas. It is one of the world’s oldest civilizations with a long history of struggle for independence, which it finally won in 1991 as the first Republic to split from the Soviet Union.

This ancient land offers spectacular, natural beauty and diversity from its picturesque Alpine countryside and river valleys to its old world villages and modern, culture-filled cities. The Armenian people are strong, hardworking and welcoming. They take great pride in their many traditions, and in learning how to preserve and promote those traditions while modernizing to become a more economically sound and independent entity.

Creating world class, handcrafted foods, furniture, textiles and rugs is helping Armenia to realize its dream.

"Armenia is blessed with a rich natural environment, full of broad green pastures and expansive meadows covered in multicolored wildflowers. Fruits and vegetables in Armenia are grown 1400-1800 meters above sea level in thin air and direct sunlight. Fertile land and exceptional spring waters give Armenian fruits and vegetables an unparalleled succulent taste. In addition, a range of microclimates and altitudes in the country allow for unique and delicious fruits and berries.”

New fave cheese companion: Harvest Song preserves. Tea rose and sour cherry are best flavors, the stinkier the cheese the better.
