Every December, as holidays approach and we see the rush around us with everyone getting ready for the upcoming festivities and presents to buy for friends and families, I think of how fortunate I am to have the gift of two cultures to which I belong. One was growing up in Armenia where holidays were simple, and the other is here in the U.S. with its own traditions.

was nothing that I had ever tasted in the United States.
